Working together with Nuorten Kouvola

We took part of a seminar two weeks ago, taking place in Nuorten Kouvola. We have reflect on how to improve the inclusion of volunteers in organisations, how to communicate and we have shared good tips between each other.

It was an inspiring meeting, especially because mentors and volunteers were working together, sharing their own experiences.

Thank you for the organisation and the shared moments.

Yesterday, I also visit Nuorten Kouvola and their workshop place. A really nice place to work with youngsters on different skills: wood, wool, furniture and a lot of others. With Solange, the French volunteer in Kouvola, we presented our country, from where we are from and some cultural aspect of the country to the participants of the workshop. A lovely collaboration!

Family activities in the wood

Yesterday, the participants of the clubs and their families were invited to an activity in the forest to celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of the summer holiday.

4 stops lead to a camp fire when then could spend time together and eat the barbecue.

The first stop was to discover what kind of vegetable was hidden in a bag. With closed eyes, and only with their hands, the participants needed to guess and recognize different vegetables.

Then, with a pantomime, each participant should helped his or her team to find which animal he or she was imitating.

After that, we asked a few questions about 4H association.

To finish, we asked questions about nutritional information you can read and find on food package when you buy it in a shop.

Despite the huge amount of mosquitoes around us, some children went to swim in the lake, other fished, and all together we shared a really nice moment around the camp fire.

Thank you for this year and enjoy summer! Hyvää kesää!

“Hello, Hello! I don’t know why you say goodbye, I say hello”

Last week marked the end of Céline’s project! Time flies and after 9 months in Finland, it was time for her to pack, say goodbye to everyone and go back home with a lot of memories in her luggage.

Thank you Céline for volunteering in Lemin 4H, you brought fresh energy, ideas and shared a piece of Liechtenstein with the local community. We hope all the best for you and a lot of success in your art project.

It’s not a formal farewell because we know that we are going to meet again, in Finland, in Liechtenstein or anywhere else!

Best wishes and see you soon!
